My first “Fjäll vandring”

Posted on

In the week of “midsommar” I had my first Fjäll tour! We went to Sälen and stayed a few days in a hotel. Everything was new for me. Walking in the fjäll, staying in a hotel and I was even allowed to be in the restaurant when my bosses had their breakfast or dinner (it was a real dog hotel!).

We arrived at the end of the day at our hotel. After the check-in my bosses started to walk with me immediately. Just to get in the mood. That evening I followed them into the restaurant. They kept me on the leash but wasn´t necessary. I was so impressed that I just laid down next and under the table. I only made some remarks when other dogs passed by.

The first day we had breakfast outside; much better than sitting inside. After a good breakfast we prepared for walking. My first walk in the fjälls! Not a small childish walk around the church, no, no, it was an extensive walk where we even had to climb a hill. In total around 15 km. That wouldn´t have been a problem for me of course but due to the high temperature I had to jump into a pool every now and then. That was really refreshing.

On the second day we started again with breakfast outside. I flirted with another dog but she wasn´t interested.
After a few km I had to help some other walkers. My boss had taken the map with him so we could show the others how they could walk. They weren´t really prepared like my bosses (they have always a map, compass, water, clothing, food and even a gps). Again we walked around 15 km. To be honest it was quite exhausting. The next day I was pleased to have a relaxing trip back in the car homewards.
