Rasspecialen!

Posted on

Every year, in the beginning of August, there is a Norwegian Buhund gathering. They call it the “rasspecialen”. This time it was in Jönköping. Actually, it is very funny. Most of the time, I was sitting and waiting but every now and then I had to run around before several people. Not too slow and not too fast (galloping is not ok). Then someone, they call that person a judge (or “domare”, this time Erna-Britt Nordin), wanted to touch me, see my teeth and even feel my testicles.

Then I had to run again. I was in a group called “young male dogs”. They gave me the quality grading “excellent” and I had to run around in the group best “Black Buhund”. I also had to run around in the best “uppfödargrupp”.

I was selected as best male black Buhund. That’s nice of course but I said to my bosses that it was even more important for them that I’m such a nice guy. No trouble-maker, always listening and no issues at all!.
Well, I have my discussions with my bosses every now and then, but who hasn’t?

Strangely enough, I had to stand up. I’m used to sit in order to get my treat but this time my boss was very eager. This is very confusing, my bosses have to explain better when I should do what.

I also met my dad, Wix, who is almost a look alike of me.

Then they had created some funny exercises, like agility and some type of “lydnad”. It was funny but I should have been told the rules in advance. It was more of a try-out. But that’s something you can expect from a trained “fjäll walker” Buhund.
