“You should go to Gimo”, a national dog show, said my breeder to me. “It will be a good experience for you. There will be over 2.000 dogs during the weekend”. To be honest, I was not convinced, I considered the rasspecialen with 55 dogs already as a huge show. Of course, when I´m in the kindergarten (“dagis” in Swedish), I meet a lot of dogs but certainly not that much.
“Perhaps you should do a training first”, the breeder said, “I know a good one for you”.

We went several times to this training to prepare. Especially standing straight up, full of energy and show off to the judge is quite complicated. My bosses always taught me to sit in order to get my treats. Now I had to stand to get my treats. Life is confusing.
Anyhow, we went to Gimo to represent the Norwegian Buhund. It was on a football field / sport area Unfortunately, there were only two Buhunds in the ring. The other one was Osmo, a yellow male buhund who is one year older than me. He comes from the same breeder.
We had to run around in the ring. First it was Osmo who was examined by the judge. Strange enough Osmo had to run again around in the ring. We had already run around, why should Osmo run again around in the ring one can wonder! I assume because the judge couldn’t concentrate due to all the other dogs.
Then it was my turn. The judge looked att my teeth and had to feel me everywhere. And I had to run again in the ring. Strange guy that judge!
After all the judge wasn’t as foolish as I thought because I got an “excellent”, a “CK” (meaning that I had to compete in group 5) and a “Cert”, When you have earned 3 “certs” you get the title Exhibition Champion.
We had to wait several hours before the group competition started, by then I was so tired that I forgot everything I was taught during the training. So, that didn’t end so well; I wasn’t selected in the first 6 dogs.
Anyhow, it was an exciting experience. I slept very well that night =)
